Weekly pollen and fungal spore forecast summary
Due to popular demand our forecasts are back.
Forecast to 17th January 2025: Pollen: very low; Spores: Aspergillus/penicillium types increasing in the New Year.
Grass Pollen Count - Low
Grass pollen season is over and will resume next Spring.
Tree Pollen Count - Low
The hazel pollen season is expected to start in the middle of January, weather permitting. The season for this type is likely to be above average severity in the south and east of England, average in the Midlands and southwest and mild elsewhere.
Fungal Spore Levels - High
During the remainder of December, some species of Aspergillus/Penicillium (but not the most allergenic types) will be the main allergens airborne at a low to moderate risk. In early January, the risk from aspergillus/penicillium will increase to moderate or high on dry days, even when cold and frosty. Other types will be low. The risk will be greater in South-west and Midlands and lowest in upland areas of Scotland and the far north of England.
Weed Pollen Count - Low
Weed pollen season is over and will resume next Spring.
