Dan uses his past experiences in cricket to inspire his students to achieve the best they can. He uses his passion for coaching and developing sport in his role as lecturer in the School of Sport and Exercise Science, specifically on the Cricket Coaching and Management degree.

Since Dan graduated from university in 2014, he has been involved in cricket at all levels.  For five years he was part of the team at the Worcestershire Cricket Board, developing the game at local clubs in the county and in the local community.  He also gained a PGCE in Post-Compulsory Education to further develop his skills as an educator.

Dan is a qualified Level 3 Cricket Coach and has used his expertise in a variety of coaching environments from club training to county age group cricket and he has also volunteered on academy and regional cricket programmes for male and female cricketers in the area.  Dan also uses his coaching knowledge in performance and society cricket sessions where he is our Assistant Coach.

His experiences in performance sports have also led him to be involved with the Performance Sport and Scholarship Programme at the University, supporting athletes and sports scholars throughout their time at the University.

Dan is a current England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) coach developer, training new and existing cricket coaches on their Foundation and Core Coach courses.  He supports their development during the course and when they are applying their knowledge to real-life scenarios.  He will be running coaching courses at the University to help further develop coaching expertise and help students become as employable as possible.

Dan is completing his Masters degree in Sports Coaching whilst he is working with the University and is able to use his own learning knowledge and skills to engage with students throughout their journey.
