Owner of Nicol & Co Estate Agents, Matt Nicol, wanted to use his sponsorship of the Worcester Wolves as an opportunity to give back to Droitwich Spa High school, where he was a pupil.

As part of the sponsorship deal, first team players from the ¹ú²úÊÓƵ-owned Club are taking coaching sessions at the school.

"It's great to support the High School that I came to," said Mr Nicol, whose estate agency sells and lets properties throughout Worcestershire from offices in Droitwich Spa and Barbourne, in Worcester.

"I have many good memories from my time there. I think it's important for children to keep active and hope that our sponsorship of the Wolves, which helps provide the opportunity to work with elite figures in basketball, will inspire local children to play the game.

"It's also positive for the business to be associated with a professional local side."

Droitwich Spa High School's Head of PE, Owen Collingbourne, said: "It has been so inspirational for our students to work with these local basketball celebrities. Their enthusiasm, skills and knowledge of basketball has been well received by all of the pupils at Droitwich Spa High School.

"I am confident basketball will continue to grow in the school and who knows we may have a Worcester Wolves player of the future!"

Wolves forward Trevor Setty, who has been involved in the sessions, said: "Being a professional, you should always give back to the community.

"It's always fun to come in and teach kids the game. We are lucky to have grown up in families where we learned basketball from a young age, but it is a little different here in England. So, by teaching some of these kids, we hope that they catch on and love it as much as we do.

"There is a lot of talent here in England and maybe one day these children might go on to play professionally."

The Worcester Wolves Basketball Club is coming to the end of its season and is currently looking to secure its place in the British Basketball League playoff finals. The next home game at the ¹ú²úÊÓƵ Arena is on 24th March at 7.30pm, where they face top of the League side Leicester Riders.
