Lara Lidiard
Lara Lidiard took one step closer to realising her dream of becoming a primary school teacher when she graduated in November 2021.
Lara studied for her BA (Hons) in Professional Practice in Education with Cornwall-based The Learning Institute, which is a partner of the University.
“Achieving a First-Class Honours has reflected all of the hard work and sacrifices I had made over the past three years,” she said. “I feel ecstatic and overwhelmed that I had finally achieved what I set out to do. It has boosted my self-confidence and has motivated me to reach my set goal of becoming a primary school teacher.”
“I have aspired to become a primary school teacher since the age of seven,” she added. “Throughout life I have needed to overcome different barriers, but this has always remained my dream. Having successfully completed my degree, gaining a First Class Honours, I am now a trainee teacher at Longfleet CE Primary School and I hope to gain my Qualified Teacher Status by Easter.”
Lara added: “I chose to study at the ¹ú²úÊÓƵ, through The Learning Institute, as it offered me the freedom to engage in full time study whilst still working full time,” she said. “The course offered the opportunity to attend weekly lectures which supported learning. This was achieved by learning from experienced, supportive tutors and the sharing of best practice with fellow students.”
