Di is a part-time MPhil / PhD student with the Association for Dementia Studies.

Di’s research interest is in exploring connectedness and communication in dementia. She is particularly interested in working with people living with an advancing dementia using inclusive, accessible and creative methods.

Di is supervised by Dr Julie Barrett, Dr Ruby Swift and .

Following a career in international corporate law and risk management, Di moved to France and worked as a university lecturer, English teacher and holistic therapist. She moved back to the UK in 2014 to support her parents. Her mother was eventually diagnosed with mixed dementia. Having moved into a nursing home, Di remains involved with her mother’s care, and she is also a carer for her father. Di’s research interests also include dementia prevention through nutrition and lifestyle changes.
